I'm Still Here
I checked my Instagram messages this morning, and you guys are so sweet to check in on me. Yes, I'm fine. There are a couple of reasons I've not been posting:
First, the day after our new website launched, Brian and I flew to Miami for a week. While I'm an open book about most things, I think there are times I just want to simply live and not document every little thing. So during this time, I was pretty much unplugged.
Second, we are gearing up for the spring launch of The Business Behind the Blooms, which opens to the waitlist on March 2nd. The other day I received an email that read, "I'm so envious of all the passive income you are making."
I love this sweet bloomer who sent me her encouraging email, but I literally said out loud after I read it, "Ha. That's hilarious!"
The truth is BBB is the opposite of passive income. It's more work than any wedding I've ever produced. While yes, the majority of the content is written, we've dedicated the entire month of January to updating it with even MORE content. Each year, I learn more. Each year, I share more. (Don't worry current bloomers, you'll receive the updated version March 1st!) Once BBB is updated, the real work begins: the launch. We are currently in the process of drumming up interest through free web classes, each of which have to be thoughtfully planned, flowers have to be ordered, beautiful pdf downloads have to be created, marketing is a full time job in itself, each newsletter announcement must be carefully written, scheduling each detail takes incredible focus, and don't even get me started on all the tech stuff involved because it's more work than I could have ever dreamed.
But here's the thing, I wish I could share with you the countless emails I've received from bloomers whose lives have been changed by reading my story. BBB is my business heart and soul. It's vulnerable; it's raw, but most of all it gives you guys hope. I literally just got off a mentoring call with a bloomer, and she said to me, "Do you have any idea how many courses I've taken? There is nothing like BBB. It's changed my life. No one shares the way you share. It's given me my life back."
I want every floral designer out there to feel that way. I want each one of you to get back to the people in your life that matter, to get back to living, and to have a business you love that supports that life. Here at ZIMMERMAN, we are a small team, but a mighty one. We are working tirelessly to get the message out that this guide actually exists. It’s worth every hour of extra work we are putting into it.
I'm coming up for a little bit of air now, and you'll see my posts more frequently; but my heart to serve you guys with life changing content is always going to trump posting on social media.
Speaking of social media, I'm talking all about how I use it in a brand new web class I'm teaching Thursday, February 1st at 12:30pm CST. If you can't make it live, go ahead and register here, and I'll email you the replay link. I've been working hard on the content for this particular web class, and it's one not to be missed. I think it's going to be a game changer for a lot of you, and I'm so excited to share with you why it shouldn't be your main focus. Case in point: until today, I had not posted anything on social media in 20 days. This morning, I received an inquiry for a six-figure wedding. Those big budget dream clients - I don't get them through social media. Sign up for the class, and get ready to free yourself from all that posting pressure.
