I'm Tired. Like, Really Tired
Confession time: I'm tired. Like, really tired.
I normally quit working at 3pm and go pick up my kids from school and don't look at work again until the following day. I can do this, because I’ve developed a system to optimize the time I do spend in the studio.
Today, I had back-to-back appointments all day, and left work at 3pm to pick up my kids, but had to bring work home with me. It is incredibly rare that I work at home with my kids around, but this is one of those weeks where there are major deadlines and extra hours are necessary. My work days are filled with client meetings and mentoring appointments, so in order to meet those deadlines, I had to take two meetings via phone this evening.
Tonight, Brian took Stella to her dance class, and the one hour they were gone was of course the one hour those two people I needed to talk to called. Friends, I wish I had that hour on videotape. Here I am, talking to a very important member of our launch team about a very important schedule, and Perry is yelling in the background asking me to build a tree house out of magnets, and Zeke is running out the front door and nearly scaring me to death. Look who learned how to unlock the door all the sudden! Perfect timing.
Oh and four different people today called me "ma'am". TO. MY. FACE.
And why? Why on earth with all the smart tech people in this world has someone not figured out a way for us to mark a text message as "unread" so we don't forget to go back to it and respond.
OK. That's all. Tomorrow, I'll be positive again. I promise.
